Air conditioning San Remo

San Remo sits at the south-east of Western Port, joined to Phillip Island by the bridge across The Narrows, with Bass Strait at Griffiths Point. Victorian Places notes that many holiday houses have been built in recent years, and 11.0% of occupied dwellings are flats or apartments.

That mix makes compact split systems a practical fit for air conditioning San Remo homes and units, with ducted reverse cycle for larger houses. We are a family business based in Pakenham, installing heating and cooling for over 20 years, and we come to you for a free quote.

Coastal split systems for San Remo homes and units

Salt is the first thing to plan for. With Western Port on one side and Bass Strait on the other, outdoor units near the water can face salt-laden wind, so we look for a sheltered position and discuss coastal corrosion protection before you choose a model.

Here is what the nearest records show. The Bureau’s Rhyll station, across The Narrows on Phillip Island, records a July mean minimum of 8.2°C and averages 13.5 days a year at 30°C or hotter (1990 to 2026). A correctly sized reverse cycle split system covers winter and summer.

Holiday use shapes the rest. On Census night 2021, 301 private dwellings (30.7%) were unoccupied, and a split in each main room lets you heat or cool only where people are. For flats, a single compact split is usually enough.

Most of the locality is a designated Bushfire Prone Area, though no Bushfire Management Overlay is mapped here. Three places are individually heritage listed in the Bass Coast Planning Scheme, including the Westernport Hotel on Marine Parade (HO138), and there is no Heritage Overlay precinct.
