Inland Gippsland winters are cold, so heating usually leads the conversation. At the Bureau of Meteorology’s Morwell (Latrobe Valley Airport) station, the minimum falls to 2°C or lower on an average of 37.6 days a year, and July’s mean minimum is 3.7°C (1984 to 2026). The coast is milder: at Rhyll, the Bureau station on Phillip Island across The Narrows from San Remo, July minimums average 8.2°C (1990 to 2026).
In its 2018 to 2022 network plan, Australian Gas Networks said it delivers natural gas to Warragul and Traralgon, so gas ducted heating remains an option in those towns, and owner-occupiers are not required to replace a gas ducted heater with electric, even at end of life. Reverse cycle ducted or split systems add cooling and suit homes without gas.

Warragul and Drouin are growing under precinct structure plans gazetted in 2014, which plan for 12,500 and 7,400 new homes respectively over the next 30 to 50 years. In Warragul’s five heritage precincts, the council’s exemptions plan lets a unit go on a side wall without a heritage permit if it sits 4 metres or more behind the front wall, stays below the highest point of the roof and meets the plan’s other conditions. In Warragul, Drouin, Traralgon and San Remo, most of each town lies inside a designated Bushfire Prone Area.

Ducted reverse cycle air conditioning heats and cools the whole home from one system, with the indoor unit out of sight in the roof and an outlet in each room. MyAir zoning lets you run only the rooms you are using. We install brands including Daikin, ActronAir, Mitsubishi Electric and Panasonic, and Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) rebates may apply to eligible upgrades.
A split system heats and cools one room with no ductwork, and a multi head system runs several indoor units from one outdoor unit. They are a good fit for apartments and smaller homes.
We install and replace gas ducted heating, including Braemar and Bonaire systems, with heat zoned to the rooms you use.
