What suits homes in the Bayside suburbs

Compact homes. Plenty of Bayside living happens in flats and townhouses. In Elwood, 72.1% of occupied homes were flats or apartments at the 2021 Census, and in Mordialloc 45.6% were semi-detached houses or townhouses. Homes like these usually suit split systems, single or multi-head, where one compact outdoor unit can go on a balcony, side path or rear wall. Larger family houses suit zoned ducted reverse cycle, with its outdoor unit tucked out of sight of the street.
